sennheiser-ew-dx-skm-wireless-microphone-handheld-transmitter
Sennheiser EW-DX SKM Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone Transmitter

The Sennheiser EW-DX SKM is a digital wireless handheld transmitter without a mute switch that takes any compatible Sennheiser or Neumann microphone capsule and works with Evolution Wireless Digital receivers. It offers 1.9 ms latency, a 134 dB dynamic range and up to 12 hours of runtime, which suits presenters, singers and event teams across UAE conference venues, ballrooms and places of worship that already run an EW-DX receiver.

What is the Sennheiser EW-DX SKM?

The Sennheiser EW-DX SKM is the transmitter body of an Evolution Wireless Digital handheld microphone. It is delivered without a capsule, so the buyer chooses the microphone module that suits the voice or room. A persistent E-Ink display, function buttons, a digital trim and a switchable low cut let the user set the transmitter without a receiver at hand. The SKM-S version of this transmitter adds a programmable mute switch.

Key Features

Choose your own capsule: The Sennheiser standard capsule interface takes 14 listed modules, from the MMD 835-1 cardioid dynamic to the supercardioid MMD 945-1 and the Neumann KK 204 and KK 205 condenser modules.

Low-latency digital audio: The Sennheiser Performance Audio Codec (SePAC) gives 1.9 ms system latency and a 134 dB dynamic range, so the gain of the transmitter does not have to be adjusted.

Always-on E-Ink display: Frequency, battery status and encryption status stay visible on screen even when the batteries are removed.

Settings on the handheld: Function buttons, digital audio trim, a test tone generator, a switchable LED and a low cut (off, 30, 60, 80, 100 or 120 Hz) are set directly on the transmitter, and the buttons can be locked.

Rechargeable or AA power: A BA 70 pack gives up to 12 hours and charges in the transmitter through its charging contacts in the CHG 70N-C, while two AA batteries are included for up to 8 hours.

Metal housing: The rugged metal body is made for handling on stage and in rental use.

Applications

Conferences and panel discussions: A handheld transmitter that takes any listed capsule suits moderators and presenters who pass the microphone around.

Hotel ballrooms and corporate events: The 10 mW transmitter works at up to 100 m, enough for large function rooms.

Places of worship and live vocals: Swap in a supercardioid or condenser capsule to match the singer or speaker.

Rental and replacement use: Replace or add a handheld in an existing EW-DX system on the same frequency range.

Technical Specifications

Microphone Type

Digital wireless handheld transmitter, capsule not included

Capsule Interface

Sennheiser standard capsule interface (14 listed Sennheiser and Neumann modules)

Polar Pattern

Depends on the capsule fitted

Frequency Response

20 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB)

Dynamic Range

134 dB

Latency

1.9 ms

Wireless Frequency Band

Q1-9: 470.2 to 550 MHz;
