Elo POS computers, Android modules and touch peripherals

Elo makes touchscreens and the computers, peripherals and stands that turn them into point-of-sale terminals, self-service kiosks and signage. This collection holds more than 100 Elo products for building and extending those systems: EloPOS Pack and Pack 2 computers, Elo Backpack Android and Linux modules, Elo Edge Connect peripherals such as barcode scanners and card readers, EMV payment cradles, POS stands, accessories for Elo IDS interactive displays, and an Elo 4K conference camera.

CorporateAV.ae is a supplier of genuine Elo products in the UAE. Most items here are parts of an Elo system rather than complete screens, so start from the screen or terminal you already have, or plan the whole system together. For complete self-service touch screens, see Kiosks.

Choosing between Elo families

EloPOS Pack 2 computers

The EloPOS Pack 2 is a compact Windows or Linux computer for checkout and point-of-sale lanes, paired with an Elo touch monitor. It uses Intel Core i3-14100T or i5-14500T processors, runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC or ships without an OS, and has been pre-tested by Elo with SUSE, Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux. One full-function USB-C port connects an Elo monitor on a single cable, and 12 V and 24 V powered USB ports and a cash drawer port run POS printers and drawers.

Elo Backpack Android modules

The Elo Backpack adds a computer to an Elo touchscreen monitor, open frame or interactive display from 7 to 65 inches. The Backpack 5 runs Android 14 with Google Play Services on a Qualcomm QCS6490 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, outputs 4K at 60 Hz over HDMI and mounts on a 75 mm or 100 mm VESA pattern behind the screen. Earlier Backpack 4 and Linux versions are also listed.

Elo Edge Connect peripherals

Elo Edge Connect peripherals plug into the edge ports of Elo touch computers, such as the 4 micro-USB 2.0 Edge Connect ports on the Android I-Series 4, so devices can be added or moved later. The range in this collection covers 2D barcode scanners (SE2707, SE4107 and SE4720), a magnetic stripe reader, a fingerprint scanner, RFID, a 3D camera, a webcam, a speaker bar and a status light.

Software and management

EloView

Elo's EloView software deploys content and apps to Android-powered Elo devices and manages them remotely. The Backpack 5 is EloView ready and supports Google Zero Touch provisioning, so a rollout of many kiosks or signage screens can be set up and updated from one place. Elo offers planned Android 16 and Android 18 upgrades for the Backpack 5 with an OS 360 subscription.

Payments and security

EMV cradles in this collection hold payment terminals, such as Verifone and Ingenico models, on Elo stands, so card payment sits next to the screen. The EloPOS Pack 2 adds TPM 2.0 on all models and Intel vPro on i5 models, Kensington lock slots, and a bracket that secures it under a counter. Confirm the payment terminal model with your bank before choosing a cradle.

Where Elo systems are used

Restaurants and retailers use EloPOS computers and Elo touchscreens at checkouts and for self-ordering, with scanners and card readers on the screen edge. Hotels, airports and clinics use Backpack-powered touchscreens for check-in, wayfinding and information. For signage projects that combine touch screens with displays and video walls, see Digital Signage & Video Walls. The Backpack 5 is rated for 0 °C to 40 °C, so in the UAE keep compute modules inside air-conditioned spaces or ventilated kiosk housings.

Installation and planning

Elo systems are modular, so the parts must match. Before ordering, check:

  • Compatibility: the Elo screen model and generation each stand, cradle, module or peripheral is listed for, such as I-Series 4 or IDS 03/53-Series.
  • Operating system: Windows, Linux or Android, matched to your POS or kiosk software.
  • Power and network: sockets, a LAN point and, for I-Series 4, the option of Power over Ethernet with Elo's PoE module.

For wall and floor mounting of Elo touchscreens on standard VESA patterns, the VSYS range covers wall brackets and stands. Confirm the VESA pattern and weight of the chosen screen before ordering.

What is the EloPOS Pack 2?

The EloPOS Pack 2 is a compact point-of-sale computer that pairs with an Elo touch monitor. It uses Intel Core i3-14100T or i5-14500T processors and runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, or comes without an OS for Linux, with SUSE, Ubuntu and Red Hat pre-tested by Elo.

It has a full-function USB-C port that connects an Elo monitor on one cable, 12 V and 24 V powered USB ports for POS printers, a cash drawer port, Wi-Fi with 6 GHz support and a 3-year warranty.

What is the Elo Backpack 5?

The Elo Backpack 5 is an Android 14 computer that attaches to the back of an Elo touchscreen monitor, open frame or interactive display from 7 to 65 inches. It uses a Qualcomm QCS6490 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and includes Google Play Services.

It outputs up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz over HDMI, has 4 USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and mounts on a 75 mm or 100 mm VESA pattern. It weighs 0.59 kg and uses about 4.1 W.

What are Elo Edge Connect peripherals?

Elo Edge Connect peripherals are add-on devices that plug into the edge ports of Elo touch computers, so a terminal can gain a scanner or reader without extra cables. The Android I-Series 4 has 4 micro-USB 2.0 Edge Connect ports.

This collection lists Edge Connect 2D barcode scanners (SE2707, SE4107 and SE4720), a magnetic stripe reader, a fingerprint scanner, RFID, a 3D camera, a webcam, a speaker bar and a status light. Check the Elo compatibility list for your exact model.

Should I choose Windows, Linux or Android for an Elo POS system?

Choose the operating system your POS or kiosk software runs on. The EloPOS Pack 2 runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC or comes without an OS for Linux, and the Elo Backpack 5 runs Android 14 with Google Play Services.

Windows suits established POS software and peripherals; Android suits app-based ordering, check-in and signage, managed with Elo's EloView. A Linux Backpack is also listed for Linux-based deployments.

How are payment terminals attached to Elo systems?

Payment terminals sit in an Elo EMV cradle that fixes them to an Elo stand or screen, so card payment is next to the touchscreen. This collection lists cradles for Verifone and Ingenico terminal models and for Wallaby stands.

Your bank or payment provider decides which terminal model can be used, so confirm the terminal first, then choose the cradle listed for that terminal and for your Elo stand.

What is EloView?

EloView is Elo's software for deploying content and apps to Android-powered Elo devices and managing them remotely. The Elo Backpack 5 is EloView ready and supports Google Zero Touch provisioning.

For multi-site rollouts of kiosks or signage, EloView lets one team set up devices, push updates and change content without visiting each screen. Elo offers planned Android 16 and Android 18 upgrades for the Backpack 5 with an OS 360 subscription.

Can Elo touchscreens be powered over Ethernet?

Some can. Elo lists Power over Ethernet support for the Android I-Series 4 through its PoE module (Elo part E413396), and this collection also lists a PoE module for I-Series 4 and 5.

PoE runs power and network over one cable from a PoE switch, which simplifies wiring in kiosks and counters. Check that the switch delivers enough power for the screen and its peripherals.

How much power does an EloPOS Pack 2 use?

Elo rates the EloPOS Pack 2 at about 63 W for the i3 model and 62 W for the i5 model when on, with a 180 W external 24 V DC power supply, and under 3 W in sleep.

Elo advises keeping the total load of the computer and its powered peripherals below 117 W (i3) or 118 W (i5). Plan this when connecting POS printers and displays to its powered USB ports.

Can Elo compute modules be used in UAE kiosks?

Yes, inside an air-conditioned space or a ventilated kiosk. The Elo Backpack 5 is rated to operate from 0 °C to 40 °C and 20% to 80% humidity, so outdoor or sun-exposed kiosks in the UAE need cooling.

Keep the module's vents clear inside the housing and avoid placing kiosks where direct sun heats the enclosure, because internal temperatures rise well above the outside air.
