Video wall mounts for tiled display walls

A video wall mount is a wall bracket built to hold one panel in a tiled array, with fine adjustment so neighbouring screens line up edge to edge and a push-pull or pop-out action so each panel can be pulled forward for service. This collection holds three VSYS push-pull mounts, rated from 45 kg to 130 kg per screen for 37-inch to 110-inch displays, and two Samsung mounts sized for 46-inch and 55-inch Samsung video wall panels.

Choose the mount after the panel, because the panel's VESA pattern, weight and depth decide which bracket fits. The panels themselves are in Video Wall Displays, where bezel width, brightness and 24/7 ratings are compared. If the project is one screen rather than an array, a fixed, tilting or full-motion bracket from TV & Display Wall Mounts is simpler and costs less per screen.

How to choose a video wall mount

Load rating and VESA pattern

Every mount in this collection is rated per screen, so compare the rating with one panel's weight, not the whole wall. The VSYS VSVW02-46T carries 45 kg on VESA patterns up to 600 × 400 mm, the VSYS VSVW13-46T carries 70 kg up to 600 × 400 mm, and the VSYS VSVW13-610T carries 130 kg on patterns up to 1000 × 600 mm for displays of 45 to 110 inches. The Samsung WMN-55VD accepts 400 × 400, 600 × 400 and 400 × 600 mm patterns.

Depth and pop-out travel

Depth decides how far the wall stands out from the room and how much space there is for cables behind each panel. The Samsung WMN-55VD is 39 mm deep. The VSYS VSVW02-46T sits 68 mm from the wall when closed and 215 mm when pulled out, and the VSYS VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T move between 120 mm and 325 mm, with 190 mm of pop-out on the VSVW13-610T. More travel gives more room to reach the panel's inputs during service.

Fine adjustment and locking

Small height and depth differences between panels show as steps in the image, so a video wall mount needs adjustment after the panels are hung. The VSYS VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T have micro-adjusters of 13.5 mm in depth and 13 mm in height plus +2° to -3° of tilt, and the VSYS VSVW02-46T has ±3° screen levelling. Samsung gives the WMN-55VD adjustment on three axes. Each VSYS mount locks its panel against accidental pop-out, and the VSVW02-46T and VSVW13-610T also take a padlock.

Wall structure and service access

Fixing to a solid wall

VSYS states that its VSVW02-46T, VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T video wall mounts are for solid walls only, and tests the VSVW02-46T and VSVW13-46T to four times and the VSVW13-610T to 2.5 times the rated load per screen. A 3 × 3 wall of 55-inch panels puts nine panels plus nine brackets on one surface, so the wall construction and fixings must be checked for the full array weight before the mounts are ordered. Drywall and partition walls need a structural frame or a floor-standing support instead.

Front service without rear access

Most video walls are built flat against a wall with no room behind them. A push-pull mount lets a technician press one panel, pull it forward and reach its inputs, then push it back into line without moving its neighbours. This is why the pop-out action matters as much as the load rating on walls in lobbies and control rooms that run every day.

Where video wall mounts are used

Control rooms and security operations centres use tiled walls for camera feeds, maps and dashboards, where panels must stay aligned for years and be serviced quickly; see Control Rooms & Command Centers. Corporate lobbies, showrooms and malls use them for brand content, often in portrait or landscape layouts; see Digital Signage & Video Walls. The VSYS VSVW02-46T and VSVW13-46T support portrait or landscape panels, and Samsung designed the WMN-55VD for both orientations. In the UAE, most walls of this kind are built in air-conditioned interiors, and the mount depth leaves the space for the panels' ventilation.

Installation and planning

A video wall mount is installed as a grid, so the first bracket sets the reference for every other one. Before installation, check:

  • Layout drawing: panel count, orientation and the exact VESA position of each bracket on the wall.
  • Load: panel weight against the per-screen rating, and the wall's capacity for the full array.
  • Cables and power: routes and sockets behind each panel, inside the mount's closed depth.

The VSYS range covers the push-pull video wall mounts in this collection as well as wall, ceiling and trolley mounting for single screens. For walls of three or more rows, plan the bottom row height first, since it decides the viewing height of the whole wall.

Video wall mounts by panel size

The mounts in this collection fall into three groups by panel size and weight.

  • 37 to 70 inches, up to 45 kg: VSYS VSVW02-46T, a push-pull mount with 68 mm to 215 mm travel and ±3° levelling for standard 55-inch wall panels, strength-tested to four times its load.
  • 45 to 110 inches, up to 130 kg: VSYS VSVW13-46T (70 kg, VESA to 600 × 400 mm, tested to four times its load, RoHS) and VSYS VSVW13-610T (130 kg, VESA 600 × 400 mm to 1000 × 600 mm, 190 mm pop-out, tested to 2.5 times its load, RoHS).
  • Samsung panel-sized mounts: Samsung WMN-55VD and Samsung WMN-46VD, designed for Samsung SMART Signage UD and UE series video walls.

Applications and technical planning

  • Control room walls

Control rooms keep camera feeds and dashboards on tiled walls around the clock, so panels must stay aligned and be easy to service. Push-pull mounts such as the VSYS VSVW13-46T bring one panel forward without disturbing the rest of the wall.

  • Lobby and retail walls

Lobbies, showrooms and malls use 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 walls of 46-inch or 55-inch panels for brand content. Choose the panels first, by bezel width and brightness, then match the mount to their VESA pattern and weight.

  • Large interactive displays

The VSYS VSVW13-610T is rated for 130 kg on VESA patterns up to 1000 × 600 mm, which suits single large-format and interactive displays of up to 110 inches that need front service access.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a video wall mount and a normal TV wall mount?

A video wall mount is built to hold one panel in a tiled grid, with fine adjustment to line up neighbouring screens and a push-pull action to bring each panel forward for service. A normal TV wall mount holds a single screen and has no alignment or pop-out mechanism.

For example, the VSYS VSVW13-46T has 13.5 mm depth and 13 mm height micro-adjustment and moves between 120 mm and 325 mm from the wall, so one panel can be serviced without moving the others.

How much weight can a video wall mount hold?

Video wall mounts are rated per screen, and in this collection the ratings run from 45 kg to 130 kg. The VSYS VSVW02-46T holds 45 kg, the VSYS VSVW13-46T holds 70 kg and the VSYS VSVW13-610T holds 130 kg per screen; VSYS tests the first two to four times and the VSVW13-610T to 2.5 times that load.

Compare the rating with the weight of one panel, and check separately that the wall can carry the whole array, since a 3 × 3 wall puts nine panels and nine mounts on the same surface.

Which VESA patterns do these video wall mounts support?

The VSYS VSVW02-46T and VSVW13-46T fit VESA patterns from 200 × 200 mm up to 600 × 400 mm, which covers most 46-inch and 55-inch video wall panels. The VSYS VSVW13-610T takes patterns from 600 × 400 mm up to 1000 × 600 mm for displays of up to 110 inches.

The Samsung WMN-55VD lists 400 × 400, 600 × 400 and 400 × 600 mm. Check the VESA pattern in the panel's own datasheet before choosing the mount.

How does a push-pull video wall mount work?

A push-pull mount holds the panel on a spring or scissor mechanism: press the screen and it pops forward, press it again and it returns into line with its neighbours. This gives front access to the panel's inputs and power without taking the wall apart.

The VSYS VSVW02-46T opens from 68 mm to 215 mm from the wall, and the VSYS VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T from 120 mm to 325 mm, with 190 mm of pop-out on the VSVW13-610T.

Can a video wall be installed on drywall or a partition wall?

Not directly with these mounts. VSYS specifies the VSVW02-46T, VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T for solid walls only, because a tiled wall concentrates the weight of many panels on one area.

For drywall or glazed partitions, a structural frame or floor-standing support has to be built first and checked for the full array weight plus the mounts. Include the wall construction in the project brief so the fixing method can be planned.

Can video wall mounts be used for portrait displays?

Yes, some can. VSYS lists portrait or landscape orientation for the VSVW02-46T and VSVW13-46T, and Samsung designed the WMN-55VD and WMN-46VD to support both landscape and portrait video walls, with a landscape size of 1022 × 539.8 mm and a portrait size of 576.6 × 539.8 mm for the WMN-55VD.

The panel must also be approved for portrait use by its manufacturer, so check the display manual before planning a portrait wall.

How are panels aligned on a video wall mount?

Panels are aligned with the mount's fine adjusters after they are hung. The VSYS VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T adjust 13.5 mm in depth and 13 mm in height and tilt from +2° to -3°, and the VSYS VSVW02-46T levels each screen by ±3°.

Samsung gives the WMN-55VD adjustment on three axes: up and down with rotational screws, left and right, and push-pull depth. Align the bottom row first, then work upwards.

How deep is a video wall mount from the wall?

Depth depends on the model. The Samsung WMN-55VD is 39 mm deep, the VSYS VSVW02-46T sits 68 mm from the wall when closed, and the VSYS VSVW13-46T and VSVW13-610T sit 120 mm from the wall when closed.

Add the panel's own depth to these figures to find how far the finished wall stands out, and keep enough space behind each panel for cables and ventilation.

Which Samsung displays fit the Samsung WMN-55VD and WMN-46VD?

Samsung designed the WMN-55VD for its 55-inch and the WMN-46VD for its 46-inch SMART Signage UD and UE series video wall panels, sized so the panels fit directly into the mount.

For other Samsung video wall series, confirm compatibility with Samsung before ordering, as the WMN-55VD lists VESA 400 × 400, 600 × 400 and 400 × 600 mm. The VSYS push-pull mounts in this collection are an alternative for current panels with a 600 × 400 mm pattern.

What information is needed to choose video wall mounts for a project?

Five facts decide the mount: the panel model with its weight and VESA pattern; the layout, such as 3 × 3 landscape or 4 × 1 portrait; the wall construction; whether there is rear access; and the space available for cables behind each panel.

With these, the per-screen load rating, pop-out travel and depth can be matched, for example a 70 kg VSYS VSVW13-46T for 55-inch panels with a 600 × 400 mm pattern.
