Overview

What is the Bose ArenaMatch AM10/80?

The Bose ArenaMatch AM10/80 is an outdoor DeltaQ array loudspeaker module with an 80° × 10° coverage pattern, one 14 in woofer, six compression drivers and 750 W passive power handling. It is rated IP55 for direct outdoor exposure and certified to EN 54-24, built for long-throw music and speech in stadiums, arenas and large outdoor venues such as those in the UAE. Part code 794042-6650.

The Bose ArenaMatch AM10/80 is the 10° vertical module of the ArenaMatch DeltaQ outdoor array series, fitted with an 80° horizontal waveguide. Modules with 10°, 20° or 40° vertical coverage combine into arrays whose directivity changes from box to box to match the audience area, and the AM10 is the narrow, long-throw module for the far seats.

Why this product

Key Benefits

  • DeltaQ array design

Directivity, or Q, can vary from module to module in an array, so coverage follows the shape of the seating and listeners near and far hear consistent, intelligible sound.

  • Long throw with a mid-width pattern

The 10° vertical pattern reaches distant seats while the 80° waveguide covers a wider block of seating than the 60° version, at 128 dB continuous at 1 m in passive mode.

  • Replaceable horizontal waveguides

The 80° waveguide can be swapped for a 60° or 100° one, and left and right arrays can use different waveguides to form asymmetric patterns.

  • High-output transducers

One LF14 neodymium 14 in woofer and six titanium-diaphragm EMB2S compression drivers deliver full-range music and clear speech at stadium distances.

  • Built for direct outdoor exposure

An exterior-grade birch plywood cabinet with polyurea coating, three-layer stainless steel grille, water-resistant woofer cone and moulded input cover give an IP55 rating.

  • Passive, bi-amp or 70 V / 100 V

Every module ships with a passive crossover, bi-amp inputs and a 70 V / 100 V transformer, so the same box suits low-impedance arrays or distributed lines.

Use cases

Applications

  • Professional stadiums and arenas

The 10° module covers the upper and rear seating from a main array.

  • School and university sports complexes

Outdoor rating and EN 54-24 certification suit fields that also need emergency announcements.

  • Outdoor hospitality and dining

Weatherproof arrays carry music and speech across large terraces and event lawns.

  • Places of worship

Arrays deliver clear speech to large outdoor congregations.

Installation & Mounting

Recommended Amplifiers

In passive mode, one channel of the Bose PowerShareX PSX4804D delivers 1200 W at 8 Ω, inside Bose's recommended 750 W to 1500 W for the AM10, so one amplifier powers four modules. On a 70 V or 100 V line the same 1200 W channel runs up to three AM10/80 modules on the 400 W tap.

For bi-amp operation, a PSX4804D channel (1200 W) suits the LF section's 600 W to 1200 W range, and a channel of the Bose PowerShareX PSX1204D (300 W) suits the HF section's 150 W to 300 W range. Bose's AM10 presets are loaded in ControlSpace Designer, which also programs PowerShareX amplifiers.

Recommended Rigging

For a single point-source module, the Bose ArenaMatch AMUBRKT U-bracket fixes the AM10 to a wall or structure. For arrays, Bose lists the AMAPSHRT array plates short kit, AMAPLONG array plates long kit, AMMCPLAT module connect plate, AMAPSPRD spreader bar and AMPULL pullback bracket as AM10 accessories. The M12 inserts also accept custom array frames.

Recommended Waveguides

The AM10/80 ships with the 80° waveguide. To change coverage later without changing the module, fit an AM10 60° waveguide for a narrower pattern or an AM10 100° waveguide for a wider one.

Expert FAQs

What is the power rating of the Bose ArenaMatch AM10/80?

The Bose ArenaMatch AM10/80 handles 750 W continuous and 3000 W peak in passive mode (Bose extended-lifecycle test), or 1250 W and 5000 W peak on the AES test. In bi-amp mode the LF section takes 600 W and the HF section 150 W continuous.

Which amplifier works with the Bose AM10/80?

The Bose AM10/80 needs 750 W to 1500 W per module at 8 Ω in passive mode, which a single 1200 W channel of the Bose PowerShareX PSX4804D provides. For bi-amp use, Bose recommends 600 W to 1200 W for the LF section and 150 W to 300 W for the HF section, with presets from ControlSpace Designer.

Can the Bose AM10/80 run on a 70 V or 100 V line?

The Bose AM10/80 has a built-in transformer with 70 V taps of 100 W, 200 W and 400 W and 100 V taps of 200 W and 400 W. One 1200 W amplifier channel can drive three modules on the 400 W tap.

Can the Bose AM10/80 be bi-amped?

The Bose AM10/80 ships ready for bi-amp operation with separate LF and HF inputs at 8 Ω each. The internal crossover point is 950 Hz, and in bi-amp mode Bose ControlSpace presets handle the crossover and loudspeaker EQ instead.

Can I change the horizontal coverage of the Bose AM10/80?

The Bose AM10/80 uses a replaceable horizontal waveguide, so its 80° pattern can be changed to 60° or 100° with a waveguide kit. Left and right arrays can also use different waveguides to form asymmetric patterns.

Is the Bose AM10/80 suitable for direct outdoor exposure?

The Bose AM10/80 is rated for direct-exposure outdoor installations, tested to IP55 per EN 60529. It has a three-layer stainless steel grille, water-resistant woofer cone coating, polyurea coated birch plywood cabinet and a moulded input cover.

Is the Bose AM10/80 certified for voice alarm systems?

The Bose AM10/80 is certified to EN 54-24:2008 as a loudspeaker for voice alarm systems for fire detection and fire alarm systems in buildings. Under EN 54-24 its ingress rating is IP33C; the installation guide gives the certified configuration.

How is the Bose AM10/80 rigged?

The Bose AM10/80 has eight M12 inserts (four per side), M10 and M6 stainless inserts and an M10 rear safety point. It hangs from the AMUBRKT U-bracket as a single module or from ArenaMatch array plates and spreader bar in an array, and weighs 36.3 kg.
