Installation & Mounting

Installation and commissioning

The published 6 m pickup distance is a reference, not a substitute for an assessment of noise and reverberation. Arrange the main unit and any CPE40 extensions around actual speaking positions. Confirm consistent playback level, mute behaviour, USB selection and simultaneous conversation from the distant seats. The appropriate solution may change when a room is reconfigured for training or when several tables are combined.

Additional Information

Why choose the Yealink CP50?

  • A 360° array supports conversation around the table rather than requiring each participant to face a single microphone.
  • Full-duplex processing, gain control and noise, echo and reverberation reduction support two-way discussions.
  • Local mute and level controls keep basic audio operation within reach of the participants.

A speakerphone rather than a microphone alone

CP50 handles both pickup from local participants and playback of remote voices. It therefore serves a different role from a microphone-only extension. The built-in loudspeaker and processing can simplify a laptop-led room, while the local controls let users mute or adjust listening level without navigating the computer. Plan placement so that documents, laptop screens or table furniture do not obstruct the microphones.

Power and cascading requirements

The current specification states that CP50 does not accept standard PoE power. Its RJ45-style connections must not be interpreted as proof that a generic network PoE switch can power it. Use the specified DC supply and documented Codec/Audio connections. With the standard 48 V 0.7 A supply, one CP50 supports up to three CPE40 extensions; the optional 48 V 2 A supply supports up to seven. Specify the supply and number of extensions together.

Computer and Yealink host connections

USB-C connects the unit to a supported computer workflow; confirm the supported operating system and application controls for the deployment. The Codec connection is used with supported Yealink cameras or conferencing hosts, such as documented UVC85 arrangements. A camera, display and meeting application are still required for video calls. Do not assume a microphone expansion port is an ordinary LAN connection.
